Title: Site Redesign and Story News
Post by: Matt on August 19, 2006, 08:20:52 PM
A quick few things first... I put up a new incentive that's a sketch I drew over that business trip awhile back.  Lara in a Bathing Suit.  Enjoy that by voting here (http://www.topwebcomics.com/vote/1863/default.aspx).

I went and saw Snakes on a plane today.  I wasn't expected too much more than a fun movie, but I was surprised by it.  Snakes on a Plane is actually a pretty good movie.  The plot was executed well, given the silly premise, and they did a great job with timing and misdirection; I don't jump or get startled much at movies, but they managed to get me quite a bit.  Also, they showed a preview for The Grudge 2, which creeped me out and startled me about 50 times in the span of 3 minutes.  Anyway, go see Snakes on a Plane, it's surprisingly good.

I hope you like the site redesign.  Not too much change, though I think it looks a little more streamlined (there's a bit more change going on behind the scenes that you don't see). Let me know what you think.  Try clicking on those colored buttons on the right side of the header. You'll get a couple different styles for you selective pleasure.

The forum has been upgraded and should be a bit nicer and more functional, though we lost our old theme in the process.  Steve will eventually change that.  Until now you have a sort of subsilver embedded in our side style.  Enjoy that.

Coming this week, we get to the reading of "the book."  So don't be surprised if things switch over to serious mode for a little bit.  Lots of backstory and info in there, so I think you'll be pleased.  Stay tuned for information about wings.  After this week, we'll get back to the funny.

This does not bode well for Steven's leg.

And I cannot even begin to look at the Hefeweizen or India Pale Ale themes. I get sharp pains in my head and my vision gets really blurry. I think they give me vertigo or a seizure or something. The design is not Lindsay-friendly. :(

This is The Agent speaking...

I think I like the Lambic theme the best after the traditional FODI.

Sometimes it's the little things that count. I like the site design much better now. It's less cluttered and easier on the eyes. Oh, and I'll stick with classic Fodi, thanks.

Yikes! Sorry for the triple post, please delete a couple of them. I reposted because I got an error message as feedback, and I didn't think my post had gone through:

Error geting users post stat

I was amazed at how much of an improved feel was gained by just constraining the width of the display.

I'm not too happy with the IPA and Hefe backgrounds.  As Lindsay pointed out, they are a bit difficult on the eyes for some people who have provided me feedback.  I'm sure most people will stick with the default/classic.  I occasionally have switch to stout or lambic though; though I switch to the lambic purely because I love the hell out of the icon I did for it.

Did you change it or something?  Because all of them seemed fine to me...  I really like how you can switch between them, it's really nifty!

I think that's the reason why I chose it.
