Title: Lets Talk About Hands
Post by: Matt on April 13, 2006, 04:16:31 PM
Just wanted some feedback on my hand-drawing progress.  I've mentioned before I'm drawing them more often and in more positions to help me get a feel for them.  I especially enjoy the Friday comic's hands (April 14).  Those you may not be able to see that comic yet, as it is not Friday at the time of posting.

Anyway, and feedback you've got will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I understand that this topic hasn't been touched upon in nearly a year, but I thought I'd just say, I noticed, as the comics went on, hands popped up more and more often in the comics.  Some of the first strips, you hid them behind people, frames and props, but as you drew more, they showed up more often.  It's funny how a thing like hands can actually add to a comic, but it does.

Looks great!

What amuses me now is that sometimes I'll draw a beautiful hand in the pencilwork, and then I'll add another character, or add the word balloons, etc and the hand will be totally hidden.  My supply of well-done hands is small enough as it is and I manage to hide some of them. It's criminal.

Hand are also easier to draw if you draw them very slowly.
