Just a thread to post reactions to the most recent comic.
Today's reaction: I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the math jokes.
-
The correct answer, of course, is "Yes."
You can't see my comment on it (since apparently that part of the new backend is on strike), but this is also an inside joke. Inside math jokes! Huh. The title is more of an inside joke that the actual content of the comic, but all around, there is a lot of insideness going on here.

It's not on strike. It's... um... resting.
I'd fix all the problems, but can't seem to motivate myself to code more after 10+ hours a day. I should probably get off my ass and do that. I also need to go over storyline/writing stuff with Matt, but right now the only thing I think is funny is the horrible hack we had to use to get around a cyclic dependency so visual studio would compile our projects. I think software development jokes would be even more painful than math jokes ;)

What was the hack? I run into that problem occasionally.

Well, as part of the build for each project, we copy the .dll to the folder that installshield picks up from... so instead of adding Project A as a reference to Project B, and Project B as a reference to Project A, we added the compiled DLL for project B to project A. It makes it really fun when there are changes to both that need to compile.. we have to do everything in a specific order.
-
Oh. That's not the problem I thought you were having.
Yeah, we do that too. In our workspace we generally have two projects, and one gets compiled to the dll (Usually ProjectBlahLib) before the other.

Science?! I will beat science with wood!

Ha! I love Zita's enthusiasm.

It's the mark of a wildly fluctuating mood.
Fluctuating is hard to type correctly.
Also, I'm going to sticky this thread, I think.

Been away for a while and just got caught up, loving the recent strips ;o)

Sticky? Spiffy!
Yes, fluctuating is a strange word to spell correctly the first time through. Finger-twister.
And on the note of Ken: Sucks to be him. :P

I say they're both equally crazy? No harnesses?! Honestly! :raspberry:
-
*Sigh* Yes, regardless of how much you can contort, squeeze and 'suck it in', it's always those damn breasts that get in the way of things.
-
This one may get me in trouble, but how do you "suck in" breasts?
-
I didn't actually say you "suck in" breasts. I was just saying no matter how you contort yourself to fit someplace, it's always the breasts that will innevitibly get in the way.
-
Mmmm, Zesty Ranch. My favorite flavor! :)!
-
Thumbs up for the action scene copout. Classic!
-
There wasn't even supposed to be an action scene. I was just going follow it with what came to be tomorrow's comic; I just didn't have the time Sunday evening that I expected to have, so I thought I'd create one with filler... sorta.
-
If I stare at the kettle of water long enough, do you think it wil just give up and boil?
-
That depends.
Do you have heat vision?
-
No, just cheese vision. It makes a great fondu.
-
Amen, Brother Bart!

Does today's strip (http://www.baldninja.com/archive.php?comic=2007-06-27) even make sense? I figured it'd be confusing until tomorrow's strip goes up, after which people woudl be like, "Holy crap. Matt really can't write."

I can glean meaning from it, it's just a question of if I am right in my assumptions from it.

Ahah! I thought so!
-
My honest first thought of the comic:
Did he suddenly switch to Naz campus? There's a girl there!
I am suddenly very glad I am on co-op.

 making fun of RIT never gets old
My first reaction (before viewing the image tooltip) was "holy crap, new drawing style?"

It never does get old. But it does get terrifying when you realize you're cracking jokes that question your own existence...

Generally speaking, those tend to be the best kind of jokes.

Damn! That's the last thing I need to think about. Of all Star Trek characters ever, I loath Riker the most. And honestly, I believe the movie would have to be named something like that.
And oddly enough I watch my Q-collective set this past week myself. Good grief...
-
How...
can... can you... not..
...can you not like.. Will Riker?

I can agree with Q when I say he was much more enjoyable before the beard. But even clean shaved, I could not help but loath the shallowness of personality I saw in him.
Oh well.

Now Kirk...well, Kirk is a whole different story...
-
I agree on the Riker thing. That was talked about here over 3 years ago.
On to the present:
Is bacon the new cheese?

Sorry for doubleposting, but someone's got to make this forum look slightly alive!
An update on a Tuesday?! What madness is this!

The good kind of madness!
