I am a little rusty, but I am drawing a comic right now.
2  Fodi: The Forums / News / Google Plus on: July 11, 2011, 10:19:05 AM
I'm on the Google plus. Are you on the Google plus? I like what I have seen so far.  After the initial aftershock of OMGNEWTHINGWHATAMIDOING?! it became fairly intuitive.

If you'd like to encircle me (seriously, the sooner some term is 100% picked up for this, the better), you can find me at this somewhat unwieldy link.
3  Fodi: The Forums / News / Guest Comicfest '11 on: July 03, 2011, 01:47:26 PM
This week, you'll find Fodi comics drawn and written by non-me people. That's right, I've sucked people into doing my work for me. Hahahaha. Bow before my minions!

Monday's comic is by Lady Attercop of Strange Fiction.
Tuesday's comic is by Kevin Gottuso! More can be seen here once his site is up.
Wednesday's comic is also by Kevin! Here is a picture of a pony.
Thursday's comic is by Kathy! It will also later by by me. I think. I'm not sure how these things go. Here is a google search.

More may follow, so keep checking back!
4  Fodi: The Forums / News / You Too Can Draw Fodi! on: June 17, 2011, 11:11:35 AM
I am going on Vacation for the week of July 4, 2011.  Rather than work hard to increase the comic buffer further, I thought it'd be nice to give you, the enterprising young (or old, I don't discriminate) comic artist the chance to draw a guest comic for Fodi!

So if you like to draw and want to draw a comic for "Save Matt's Sanity" week, then here's what you need to know:

  • Comics should be 720 pixels wide.
  • They may be .png or .pjg format.
  • They should be submitted to me at matt {at} baldninja {dot} com by Midnight Eastern Time, June 30. Use the subject "GUEST COMIC" in all caps so spam filters do not eat it*.

Also let me know your name and if you have a website you'd like me to link to (and obviously the url for said website).

Thanks!

*Those who know me on Twitter or Facebook should probably drop me a note there too.
5  Fodi: The Forums / News / Typos? What Typos? on: May 27, 2011, 08:28:25 AM
For those of you who are wondering what's with me making all the typos the past two comics, I direct your attention to this.

I think that should about cover it.

Remember: To help support Fodi, like everything and share with your friends! It's fun and easy to do and it may cause the universe to give you a karmic pony*!

*karmic pony not guaranteed
6  Fodi: The Forums / News / You Can Now Comment on Comics on: March 27, 2011, 04:00:11 PM
Steve added the Facebook commenting to the site. Now you can comment on each comic using your Facebook account. Spiffy!

To comment on the latest comic, you can go it its individual page via the link on the navigation calendar.
7  Fodi: The Forums / News / Update Schedule Update for 2011 on: January 04, 2011, 11:03:49 AM
I've been awesome at getting and overfilling a buffer of comics, so we're moving to four comics/week.  So Monday through Thursday, you should expect to see a comic.  Everything in January has been drawn.  That'll cover the rest of this Trade Wars series.
8  Fodi: The Forums / News / Facebook Liking on: October 29, 2010, 07:56:58 AM
In case you haven't noticed, we've added a Facebook "Like" button to the site, under the comics.  One thing you may not have noticed is that each comic has a separate like button, so you can like individual comics.  Right now, the front page's like button just likes the front page and not the comic.  Should we change that so that it likes the specific page for that comic?  You can always click the latest date in the calender to get there, but that might not be obvious.

Now... what I would like from you intrepid readers is for you to go through the archives (at your own pace) and like the individual comics that you like the best. That'll help me figure out all kinds of interesting things.

We've also got that share button too. Share us on Twitter or Facebook or wherever you visit if you'd like to help out another way.  That always helps out more than you think.
9  Fodi: The Forums / News / Ragnarok Online on: May 21, 2010, 12:41:22 PM
Have you heard of an MMORPG called Ragnarok Online? It is a game based loosely off Norse mythology as well as the Korean comic, Ragnarok.

Well, I am launching a private server tomorrow called ArcRO! We've got 10x experience rates and 10x drop rates as well as some custom content, including new dungeons. You can check it out at www.arcro.net.

We launch tomorrow, 22 May 2010 at noon Eastern Daylight Time.

Right. AND IT WILL BE AWESOME.
10  Fodi: The Forums / News / Post Easter Sickness on: April 07, 2010, 07:11:05 AM
You may have been wondering where this week's comics have been.  They've been in my head.  Along with a tubfull of mucus.

Sickness + low fever = lack of drawing capability.

Comics should resume as normal soon.

Edit: I'm not dead. Just recovering from this never-ending cold of doooooom.  Comics to resume on Monday.
11  Fodi: The Forums / News / Formspring on: March 11, 2010, 06:40:35 PM
I've signed up for one of those formspring thingers.  You can ask me questions on it by clicking here.  I'll try to answer with 100% made-up truth, do not fear.

I also have one of them thar twitterererer things.
12  Fodi: The Forums / News / Donation Button Was Wrong! Oops! on: February 18, 2010, 08:32:00 PM
A friendly user today informed me that she had donated! Yay!

I appreciate donations very much.  Except that I had a problem: The paypal button was pointing to my old Paypal email address, which no longer exists! Oops.

So on the off chance that you have donated in the recent past or even distant (and I never accepted your money), that is why!
13  Fodi: The Forums / News / Ryan Estrada-made Voting Incentive - Lara vs. Atomic Kitten on: February 16, 2010, 12:47:22 PM
Vote for us at TopWebComics.Com to see a picture of Lara battling an Atomic Kitten! This was drawn by Ryan Estrada, who has been drawing art for free as part of an effort to draw attention to his comic at Zuda, while aiming for a job at Marvel!  If you like it, hop over there and vote for him!
14  Fodi: The Forums / News / Computer Go Boom on: January 30, 2010, 07:42:44 PM
Last night my home computer began its death throws, throwing a Stop 0xD1 BSOD when trying to boot into regular (aka not safe mode) windows XP, so whatever driver blew up wasn't something loaded in safe mode.

Only the problem was that I couldn't figure out what was blowing up. I had just done a restart after a windows update, so I rolled back to an earlier restore point... same problem. I rolled back a whole month (and I've restarted before in that month) and it still crapped the bed.  Finally during one of my safe mode boots, I plugged in my external hard drive and grabbed all the comic files (all the high res masters, etc) and other data I considered important from my computer.  This morning, I couldn't get past the BIOS. The BIOS would run in its own magical safe mode, then when I fixed the stuff and it went to restart... nothing. Black screen.  I can hear the relays clicking when I initially power it on, but they don't click when it goes to restart.  So I'm very very glad I grabbed all the comic stuff, because only once in about 30 minutes of trying did I mangaed to get it to actually boot (into safe mode).

Looks like my scanner plays well with my work laptop, so I'll be able to scan, color, and upload things, but Monday's comic may be delayed.

Now I just need some way to afford to buy a new computer because I have no clue what's wrong with mine now. (Motherboard? Power Supply?  RAM seems okay.)
15  Fodi: The Forums / News / Buffers, Surgery, Incentives on: January 10, 2010, 08:43:41 PM
Monday's comic ties up the Cheese Conspiracy storyline.

On Tuesday my wife and I leave on a three day trip so she can have surgery (not for anything life-threatening). I've currently got Monday and Wednesday's comic in the buffer and should add Friday's tomorrow so your comics won't be interrupted. I would appreciate it if you could throw some prayers our way for the surgery in exchange for my comics benevolence.

Next week I'll have a business trip all week (leaving Monday night, but with luck I'll have the buffer stocked for that too, since I plan to draw while my wife is in surgery. (I've been told that this surgery takes about 7+ levels of Starcraft to complete, so I should hopefully be able to get a few drawn and inked in that time).

Starting on Monday (pacific time) if you vote for us a Top Webcomics you'll get a sketch of Dee Dee to view instead of the Linda art that's been up forever and that I did not like very much. So yay for that.

Added 1/11/2009: Also, apparently our forum was set to require us to approve you.  It's still set that way but now that I know, feel free to log in and/or sign up. I approved everyone that was not obviously a spam bot.  Not a lot going on there right now, but nobody was able to get it.  Really, I just thought you all hated me. S'cool.

Added 1/11/2009 by Steve (abusing godlike forum permissons): Register for the forums, and post in the new forum section for site suggestions/ideas! Feel free to suggest that we upgrade the forum to something more modern.

Added 1/13/2009 by Matt: My wife's surgery went well, though anesthesia decided to strike her a bit heavily with nausea afterwords they are making her stay the night. Thanks for your well-wishing and prayers.
