Matt, I have to say, your "typical RIT dorm room" is very typical.  You even got the bitchy roommate right - she reminds me of my former roommate Sarah, who even looks like that girl in the comic.  Of course, she was also an award-winning rifle shooter, so I should stop talking about her now.

Hehe. I used a reference photo or two of a dorm room to jog my momery, but for the most part I then just winged it as far as how it should look and be laid out, because the reference photos were kinda awkward to mimic, and it's just better this way.

It is also very hot in this room.

Yes, Sarah was (and probably still is).  And about the smell, it didn't smell too bad when we first moved into the building (although, now everytime I smell fresh drywall or certain industrial cleaners mixed with paint, all I can think of is the dorms, since they weren't quite done with the building yet).  However, after some of the guys lived in them for a while, certain rooms got weird smells.  I attribute it to (certain) guys living together, and not having girlfriends to point out how bad they smell.    He hee.
